December 2008 Show: "28-Days of Advent Stories" - Starting Sunday (scroll down)!
Every Day - From November 30 - December 21st we will share an installment in "The Advent Journey of Analise". You can listen with your family or you can listen yourself and tell the story to your family or classroom. If you miss a day - don't worry! You can listen to all the stories anytime on the channel. This is a spiritual fairytale story rather than a religious story and is suitable for people from all cultures and all religions. If you would like to create a "story ribbon" to go with the story like we did instructions are HERE. Note: If you are a member: Members of www.EarthSchooling.com for the month of December can download these stories as MP3s (for Ipod or other) via their member website.

FEATURED SHOW of the May: Anjali's "The Fairy's Flowers"

Imagine being transported into the world of fairies, and listening to a story that not only entertains your children, but also teaches them some of the important lessons of the world. The Fairy’s Flowers will do just that. Based on a blending of experiments in gentle story telling and song, The Fairy’s Flowers is a 40-minute journey, designed to teach your children lessons in the ten cardinal values: non-harming, benevolent truth, non-stealing, universal love, simple living, purity of mind and body, contentment, service, spiritual knowledge, and contemplation.

 Narration and songs by Anjali
Story by Mukti Hava Bauman
Adapted by Didi Anandarama

Produced by Anjali for Ananda Marga Gurukula - a Neohumanist education paradigm:  www.nhe.gurukul.edu

What is Waldorf Storytime Radio?

This is a radio station JUST for storytelling and short verses. I love listening to stories as much as my children and I imagine the days when families used to sit around the radio and listen to a good story together...what ever happened to that? I would like to bring that family activity back! This is going to be just one big 24-hour-a-day Circle Time!

I was inspired to start this radio station by listening to the nationally syndicated Delila on the local radio stations here in Iowa. Delila comes on the radio every night at 7 and plays songs about love dedicated and chosen for her listeners. I would like to do the same for my listeners but through stories. If you would like me to read a story for you, your friend, child or other family member please write to me at: herbnhome@yahoo.com and I will choose a story especially for your situation and will read it on our show. I cannot accommodate live call-ins right now but for anyone who writes to me I will read your letter as well as your story ON AIR and will send you the air-time via e-mail if you want someone else to listen.

Please join my children and I during our storytime every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Waldorf Channel for a live storytime reading. And if you miss the storytime or are in a different time zone you can tune in any time to the continuous feed of our show – 24 hours a day – to listen to stories.

During each session we will read one chapter from a long book we are working on, we will read a seasonally appropriate story and we will read one story that is dedicated to someone either in our family or yours. We may bring guest authors from time to time to read excerpts from their books. If you have a book and you would like to read a chapter or a verse from it on our station all you need to do is contact me at: herbnhome@yahoo.com or visit www.thedreamangels.com to find my contact information.

This entire station is dedicated to Mosi Mandil, my eldest daughter who is away at school this year and who has been missing storytime with the family. By using this medium for our storytime she will be able to tune in and join us once again! So welcome to the show Mosi!

During our first broadcast we will be reading chapter one of the Arabian Nights. This story is suitable for children ages 7 and up although younger children are welcome to listen along with their family and siblings. We will also be reading the seasonal story “The Fir Tree” by Hans Christian Anderson. This is a wonderful story to tell when you take the Christmas tree down. Or if you don’t celebrate the season with a tree, this is still a wonderful seasonal story! This story is suitable for all ages. If you are following the broadcasts of The Arabian Nights I have named them all Arabian Nights 1, Arabian Nights 2, Arabian Nights 3...so you can more easily find the episode you need!

If you would like to sponsor a story on Waldorf Storytime Radio or you would like me to choose and dedicate a story to someone you know please contact Kristie at: herbnhome@yahoo.com

Thank you for listening!
